Skillet Joins Inaugural Avalanche Tour

For those with a taste for driving rhythms and bass lines, distorted power chords and growling vocals, the 2011 Avalanche Tour rolls in March 24.

The tour is headlined by triple-Grammy nominated, Stone Sour.  Stone Sour hails from Des Moines, Iowa and is fronted by lead vocalist Corey Taylor, former lead singer of Slipknot.  Releases like the 2006 critically-acclaimed album, Come What(ever) May, and No. 1 smash single, “Through Glass”, have caused industry giants like Billboard and Revolver Magazine to heap high praise upon the band.

Joining Stone Sour on the tour will be British Columbia’s Theory of a Deadman, the tireless (performing as many as 250 shows per year) Halestorm and 2009 CRMA “Best New Group” nominees, Art of Dying.

Did we forget anyone?  Oh yes!  Christian Music’s own champions of hard rock, Skillet!  Skillet stands out in this genre that is typically driven by frustration and angst.  While most hard rock outfits are able to identify with the trials and troubles of their listeners, Skillet is able to go a step further and offer a means of escape, a hero, a savior.
